A brilliant afternoon with Greensward, singing a whole range of music from upbeat to dreamy. Loved the mix of instruments and the close harmonies, and the easy communication and occasional jokes between the band members, that made you feel you were part of something special.
Check them out!

Folk rock you say? To people of a certain age that term will bring back fond memories of the 60s and 70s when bands like Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and Pentangle stalked the Earth (and to be fair some of those still do!) To people of my daughter’s age it meant absolutely nothing and with that in mind we set off on yet another stonkingly hot summers day to see Greensward, a brand new folk rock band, play as part of the Hitchin music fest. The setting was the lovely open courtyard at Los Reyes tapas bar – and with a glass of wine and various bowls of tasty goodies at the ready we settled in for the afternoon’s entertainment.
An unusual band.

I don't think I'd ever seen a band like this before - there was a violin and a mandolin too. They played some songs I knew and seemed like they were enjoying playing folk songs with electric instruments. The Orange Tree is my local.
Hope they come back.
Great sound!

Consistently engaging guitar-based sound across a wide range of songs. Lead vocals are a great fit for the folk-rock genre and the accomplished multi-voice harmonies an absolute pleasure. All over too quickly!
Great band!

Brilliant Festival afternoon in the courtyard with this great band - something for everyone.
Alfresco added to the atmosphere and the range of songs was amazing
